Old Kent Barn - The perfect venue
I first met Brooke and Harry at a wedding fair in Bexley — we had a fantastic chat, and the very next day they came back to the show to say they wanted to book me. From the moment I met them, I knew their day was going to be full of fun, laughter, and lots of joy — and their wedding at The Old Kent Barn did not disappoint.
It is not all about the girls.
While Brooke and her bridesmaids were enjoying a fun and relaxed morning, Harry and his groomsmen were having just as much of a laugh during their groom prep. The guys kept the atmosphere light with plenty of jokes, selfies, and laughter along the way — the perfect mix of excitement and nerves before heading off to The Old Kent Barn for the ceremony.
Now I always look forward to the dress reveal moment, but when dad has a reaction like Brooke's dad, then, well, it's just that extra special isn't it. Such heartfelt and special moments between dad and daughter.
Time flew by, and before anyone knew it, it was ceremony time. Brooke and Harry exchanged vows in a beautiful outdoor setting under the gazebo. One of the things I love about The Old Kent Barn is the way they have designed and built the gazebo with space for everyone to be there and it not feel crowded. Harry waited for Brooke with his Groomsmen beside him for support, and for laughs too I have to say.
Brooke and Harry had taken great advice and ensured there was plenty of confetti, and their walk was full of colour, laughter, and energy. Afterward, we took a few group photos on the lawn and wandered around the venue for a little bit of couples portraits time before their wedding breakfast.
We had a lot of fun throughout the afternoon with plenty of candid photos of guests enjoying the day, and we even had time for a few portraits around the grounds of The Old Kent Barn before Brooke and Harry were called in for their wedding breakfast. They made a fantastic grand entrance with confetti cannons, welcomed by a fantastic introduction from their best man, Ed. Napkins were waved and plenty of cheers for the happy couple as Brooke and Harry made their way through the tables. The speeches were heartfelt, funny, and full of memories that made everyone laugh, and, at times, shed a happy tear.
Once the speeches were finished and whilst Elsie and her team turned the room around we had time to nip outside for some beautiful photos in the meadow opposite Old Kent Barn for some artistic portraits. The light was perfect, soft and gentle and with a little help from my flashes we created some beautiful imagery with Brooke and Harry, the sort of art that will look amazing on a canvas on their living room wall.
We were back inside in plenty of time for some amazing photos of the cake cut. Cakes by Carina yet again provided one of her masterpieces for Brooke and Harry. I am sure it tasted every bit as good as it looked!! Cake cut and it was time to hit the dance floor for their first dance. Everyone joined in and the dance floor remained full for quite some time. It was time for me to leave Brooke and Harry to enjoy their evening, but before I left we nipped out once more for a few beautiful blue hour photos. Brooke and Harry tell me these were some of they favourites from their day, and I have to say, I really enjoyed creating them.
