A fun filled Solton Manor Wedding Captured by Kent Wedding Photographer SHOT by JFK
I first met Abi and Lewis at a wedding fair in Canterbury, and we clicked straight away. They were such a relaxed and friendly couple, and I knew from the start that their wedding would be a joy to photograph. They booked me soon after, and I was thrilled to be part of their day — especially now that I’m also a recommended wedding photographer at Solton Manor.
August arrived, and so did Abi and Lew's big day. We couldn’t have asked for better weather for their wedding at Solton Manor. Sunshine, blue skies, and the beautiful Kent countryside made the perfect backdrop for a day filled with laughter, dancing, and plenty of happy memories.
The whole atmosphere was relaxed, fun, and full of personality and all of the work that they had put in to their big day was evident everywhere. Their little boy, Ellis, played a big part in the day — even though he decided to have a nap through the entire ceremony! I thin really he was just saving energy for the dance floor later on!
One of my favourite moments was the confetti and bubbles after the ceremony. I’m now officially a big fan of bubbles — they looked incredible in the sunshine and made for some really joyful photos. Seriously, if you are wondering how to make your confetti walk even more fun and more amazing, go for bubbles!!
Abi looked absolutely stunning in her Essence of Australia gown (bought from Bellissima Weddings), complete with a cathedral-length veil by Blanca Veils (from Texas) and a show-stopping floating bow detail on the back by Dale McCarthy. Guests enjoyed a delicious treat from Treats on a Tricycle, and it’s safe to say the ice cream was a massive hit on such a warm day.
As the afternoon rolled on, the sound of laughter carried around the venue, with guests relaxing and enjoying the swing under the trees, and soaking in the sunshine. Later, I joined Abi and Lewis for some couples portraits around the grounds, alongside the talented Jordy and Elise from Elevate Media45, who were the video team for Abi and Lew's big day. We wandered through the gardens to the pond and the Summer House, along the way we nipped into into The Romantic Ruins, and out into the meadow at sunset. The light was perfect, and we even managed a few spontaneous dances in the meadow before heading back for more fun on the dance floor.
Before the night came to a close, we finished with a few epic portraits in front of the Manor House, just as the last light faded — a perfect end to a perfect day. Abi and Lewis later chose 45 images for their wedding album, a beautiful reminder of their laughter-filled, sunshine-soaked celebration.
It was such a pleasure photographing their wedding and seeing all the moments that made it truly theirs. Solton Manor is a wonderful venue, and it’s always a joy to return — especially now as one of their recommended suppliers.
