Some weddings just stay with you, and Abbie and Jon’s beautiful summer wedding at Cooling Castle Barn is definitely one of those days for me. They first came my way through a recommendation from a mutual friend, and since their wedding I’ve even had the pleasure of photographing Abbie's mum’s wedding too — which was such a lovely full-circle moment.

We met a few months before their big day to chat about plans and so I could meet their young son (and their new kittens!). When the day finally arrived, the sun was shining, the air was warm, and the atmosphere was full of excitement and emotion. Bridal prep was full of laughter, the ceremony was heartfelt and emotional, and the afternoon flowed perfectly with confetti, group photos, and plenty of giggles.

Later, we nipped over to the field opposite Cooling Castle Barn for some relaxed couples portraits in the late afternoon light. The field had just been cropped a few days earlier, but it worked beautifully — and I know a few of those portraits now hang proudly on their wall at home. After their cake cut and first dance, I left them to enjoy the rest of the evening surrounded by their loved ones.

Abbie and Jon were an absolute joy to photograph, and it’s so special that we still keep in touch from time to time. Their Cooling Castle Barn wedding was full of warmth, laughter, and genuine love — everything a summer wedding should be.
