A Magical September Wedding at The Orangery, Maidstone – G & Turk


From the moment I met G and Turk at a wedding fair early in 2025, I knew their wedding day would be something special. We clicked instantly, and after a few chats about their plans, it was clear: we were going to create some truly unforgettable wedding photos together at The Orangery in Maidstone.

September 2025 delivered a picture-perfect sunny day for their celebration. When I arrived with G in the bridal prep room, the atmosphere was calm, serene… for now, haha! G had everything ready ahead of time, giving us the chance to capture beautiful, natural bridal prep shots without a hint of stress. Even the registrars weren’t knocking on the door yet, which is always a bonus!


Turk was just as on the ball, ready for photos with his groomsmen. This gave me time to capture some relaxed, fun moments before the ceremony – those little details that make wedding memories so special.


And then the day truly came alive. The ceremony at The Lappa was full of warmth and joy, followed by violins playing during the afternoon group photos. Then came the vibrant Turkish wedding traditions: a Düğün davulu – the wedding drum entrance, the spectacular wedding circle dance with money-throwing, and the unforgettable Testi Kırma, the vase smash. Every moment was bursting with energy, laughter, and celebration.


Photographing a Turkish wedding for the first time was an absolute thrill. I had some experience from visiting Turkey, but being part of this day, capturing G, Turk, and their amazing families, was unforgettable. Joe from May Media was busy filming, keeping pace with every moment – which, trust me, was no easy task!


And of course, a huge shoutout to Geena at The Cake Club UK for crafting their incredible four-tier cake – pure wedding magic.
